We connect the dots.
Distribution with a system. A Hamburg house working between principals — origination and trade, market entry, marketing and representation, and exclusive mandates.
A small house.
[s:ystribution] was incorporated in Hamburg in 2020. Its work has since spanned commodities, petroleum products, metals, agricultural goods and off-market real estate, alongside market entry, commercial development and the marketing and representation of products in territories where a name is not yet known.
Hamburg is not incidental to this. The city has organised international trade for eight centuries, and the habits of that trade — written terms, verified counterparties, obligations honoured without reminder — remain the ordinary standard here rather than a distinguishing feature.
The house is small by intention. What is gained in scale is usually lost in judgement, and judgement is the part of this work that cannot be delegated.
We do not publish client names, transaction values or case studies. Those who need to know our work already do.
Four practices. One network beneath them.
The practices are distinct in method and continuous in relationships. A file that begins as a market question often ends as a transaction, and a transaction frequently opens the market question that follows it.
Origination & Trade
Trade begins with a defined requirement: a grade, a quantity, a delivery window, a destination. Between that definition and a closed file lie counterparty verification, title, inspection regime, incoterms and payment structure. This practice is concerned with that distance.
- Product trades
- Broker mandates
- Petroleum products and fuels
- Metals and raw materials
- Agricultural goods
- Off-market commercial real estate
- Counterparty due diligence
- Transaction documentation
- Supplier and offtake introduction
- Tender and offer preparation
Market Entry & Growth
A product that sells in one market does not sell itself in the next. Entry is a question of route, price position, counterparty and sequence — rarely a question of translation. This practice concerns the commercial architecture that precedes the first order.
- Go-to-market strategy
- Go-to-product strategy
- Business development
- Business consulting
- Commercial structuring
- Distribution and partner models
- Pricing and positioning
- Market and competitor assessment
- Entry sequencing by territory
- Local representation arrangements
Marketing & Representation
At the upper end of a market, attention is not bought. It is arranged. Sales marketing, product marketing and event marketing are here the same discipline applied at different distances: the right proposition, in the right room, in front of the right twelve people.
- Sales marketing
- Product marketing
- Event marketing
- Product and range launches
- Private receptions and dinners
- Trade fair representation
- Delegation and buyer visits
- Brand representation in new territories
- Sales collateral and documentation
- Positioning for a defined audience
Mandates & Projects
Some work cannot be shared. An exclusive mandate places one house on one side of a transaction for a defined period. A project mandate continues past the signature, into the part where an agreement becomes a delivered result.
- Exclusive sell-side mandates
- Exclusive buy-side mandates
- Introduction of business cases
- Project accompaniment
- Project realisation
- Networking and access
- Negotiation support
- Interim commercial representation
Where the work usually begins.
Files rarely arrive described in the language of a service catalogue. They arrive as situations.
Volume without a route
A producer holds quantity and quality but no reliable path to a buyer who can take it — and no wish to discover, three months in, that the counterparty was never the principal.
An asset that cannot be listed
An owner intends to sell, and the sale cannot be advertised. The list of acceptable buyers is short, and the fact of the sale is itself confidential.
A market where introductions precede orders
A manufacturer enters a territory in which the first meeting is granted on the strength of who arranged it, and the product is examined only afterwards.
A launch that requires a room, not a campaign
A product is introduced to a defined audience of buyers, distributors or principals. Reach is irrelevant; the composition of the room is everything.
The sequence of a transaction.
The vocabulary of a transaction, in the order in which it occurs. The same order holds whether the file is a cargo, a market entry or a launch.
The first question is never what.
It is who.
The network is not a database.
A network is built rather than acquired. It does not transfer, it is not for sale, and it is worth precisely what it will still be worth after it has been used once.
This is what the name describes. System and distribution: a method applied to a network. It is also what the mark describes — two points, held together.
Five markets, and in several of them the relationship is the infrastructure. Where that is the case, an introduction is not a courtesy but the only door there is.

Mandates.
The house acts on exclusive mandates for either side of a transaction — sell-side or buy-side. Scope, duration and terms are set out in writing in each case.
An exclusive mandate is a narrow instrument and is meant to be. It exists so that one party can be certain whose interest is being carried into the room, and so that a file is not simultaneously in circulation elsewhere under another name.
Engagements arise largely by introduction.
The ordinary condition.
Discretion is not an addition to this work. It is the condition under which the work exists at all — and it is measured entirely by what does not happen.
- No client name is used as a reference.
- No transaction appears in a portfolio.
- No file is circulated to build interest.
- A non-disclosure agreement is the customary first document.
The applicable framework.
As a German company engaged in international trade, [s:ystribution] operates within the framework of the German Money Laundering Act (GwG), the FATF Recommendations and Directive (EU) 2018/843.
Counterparty identification, beneficial ownership, sanctions screening, transaction documentation and ongoing monitoring are the established instruments of that framework. In international trade they are not administrative overhead; they are the reason a counterparty can be relied upon at all.
